This is 40

This morning I sat and watched the stars fade into the sunrise over Lake Malawi. I then traveled to Mzuzu and spent the day with four incredible families, all of whom are participating in Ripple Africa's tree conservation project. I am so lucky to have heard a small part of each their stories and am so grateful to them for allowing me into their homes. The work they are doing here is so impactful.

This evening I returned to camp to a lovely meal and a beautiful wood carving of a kingfisher my fellow volunteers had made just for me, accompanied by a lovely hand painted card. I continue to be floored by the incredible humans I get to meet in this beautiful place, and it was an wonderful way spend my 40th birthday.

I've been here for two weeks now, and I am so impressed with Ripple Africa. The people here care so deeply for their community and they are working so hard to make positive changes. For my 40th birthday, I'd love to have 40 people donate $40 to Ripple to support the work they are doing. If you can help, I'd be so grateful. https://www.classy.org/fundraiser/4729807
